Busy Gamer Nation #260 - The Church in the Darkness

TheChurchInTheDarkness-FreedomTownSignOne of the biggest highlights of our PAX 2016 experience was meeting Ellen McLain (GLaDOS in Portal) and her husband, voice actor John Patrick Lowrie (The Suffering, Team Fortress 2) with Richard Rouse III, creator of the forthcoming cultist action/detective game, The Church in the Darkness.

We recorded the panel on voice acting with McLain, Lowrie, and Rouse, plus Darren Korb and Logan Cunningham from Supergiant Games (Bastion, Transistor, Pyre) and Elias Toufexis (Adam Jensen in Deus Ex Human Revolution/Mankind Divided).

But this inteview proved vexing to edit. There was so much great content, it was hard to determine what to cut (the answer: very little) while keeping the great anecdotes, their personal journey, and the unique ways they helped shape this very unusual title.

Just in time for the next PAX West 2017, here is their story - just under 12 minutes in all. It's a great tale told with humor and insight.
