Reports from Latvia (near Russia) suggest another so-called videogame copycat killing. This time the "culprit" is Mortal Kombat 3, which apparently inspired a group of five boys ranging from 13-16 to try to break their 14-year-old buddy's neck last week with a scissor legs technique. The teens then dumped his body in a freezing river (police suspect the videogame move failed, so he probably drowned). And, big surprise: It seems the lads had been drinking. Last year, a similar friend-on-friend murder was pinned on the adult thrill kill game Manhunt - check out this Rant for the Gamestay perspective. The same warning applies today. Now excuse me while I get back to Resident Evil 4, which my own son will be lucky to play when he's 30...
