E3 Update - PS3 details, FFXI on Xbox 360

The look of the PlayStation 3 was revealed to be all outward curves - kind of an inverted Xbox 360. The default color appears to be silver, although black and white options will also be available. Not surprisingly, PS3 will support Blu-Ray discs and 1080p screen resolution - which, though technically better than 720p and 1080i, isn't supported natively by many early HDTVs. Oh, and it's backwards compatible with both PS1 and PS2 games. Sound will be Dolby 5.1 and DTS, there will be a detachable hard drive and even support for the PSP via Wi-Fi... The massively multiplayer Final Fantasy XI will be released on Xbox 360, connecting the new system with existing players who've had PS2 and PC versions for more than a year. There are no dates or real details yet; the big news is that Square Enix is now dealing with Microsoft. And this just in: Xbox 360 will only have limited Xbox compatibility: just for select titles...
