Details about Windows Vista are finally emerging, though it's still not clear how it will stack up as a gaming OS - except that it has a Games explorer, DirectX 10 and parental controls to block your kids' access to violent games. Expected to launch the first week of October (yes, this year!), consumer flavors include Home Basic (low end), Home Premium (with built-in Media Center DVR) and Ultimate (business features plus Media Center).
