Whoa! - PS3 launch Nov. 11, PSP price cut

UPDATE: Sony announced it will launch the PS3 globally with a million units split between the U.S., Europe and Japan on Saturday, Nov. 11. Translations from Japanese are still fuzzy, but it sounds like:
  • Linux will be preinstalled on the 60GB hard drive which, it seems. will be included
  • There is a basic online service built on top of GameSpy that's free (suggesting the possibly of a for-pay service similar to Xbox Live Gold)
  • Full PS1/PS2 backward compatability with graphics upconverted to high definition
  • HDMI support, for those TVs that can handle it
Sony also offered up some news about the PlayStation Portable, including a price cut to $200 in late March, forthcoming EyeToy and GPS accessories, support for both Macromedia Flash and PS1 games via an online downloadable game store and the release of a videophone add-on this fall...
