- Grand Theft Auto: Chicago is announced for the PlayStation 3 with an October 2007 release date. Of course, Rockstar would never use a real city...
- Gamespot detailed the ESRB's new A-ss rating to help consumers identify low-quality games
- Blizzard Entertainment offered several jokes, including a new Wisp race for World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade that can detonate itself with the unfortunate side effect of permanent death in the game... There's also the new Blizzard owned restaurant chain, BurgerCraft, where you can acquire Hunger Points to reach the rank of Grand Gourmand and access the Secret Cow Level (aka the VIP lounge)...
- Bungie continues to milk its longstanding joke game, Pimps At Sea, now in production for the Xbox 360 with achievements (cached) such as You're Rich, Biatch! and Aquawhore...
- Both Slashdot and PlanetHalfLife.com updated their sites with pink themes, but Slashdot gets bonus points for adding the slogan: "OMG!!! Ponies!!!"...
- Gamefaqs.com reported on its home page that it had been shut down by the the Anti-Cheating Association of America (ACAA) with a notice that "using cheat codes or walkthroughs may seem like a 'victimless' crime, but that's far from the truth... you're not just cheating the game, you're cheating the developers, the designers, the producers, and most of all, yourself." After a 30-second delay, the real site loaded..
- MyGamerCard.net announced Barbie: Horse Rally for the Xbox 360 and credited Xbox VP J Allard (aka HiroProtagonist) with the top score...
- Ars Technica reviewed the perennially delayed Duke Nukem Forever...
- bf2s.com reported it had been hacked, losing everyone's stats and points for Battlefield 2...
- Multi Theft Auto (the Grand Theft Auto multiplayer modders) claimed you could become a beta-tester by listening to the Banana Phone song on Internet radio for 12 hours to acquire secret code words to gain entry...
- Fotopolis reports the next iteration of the PlayStation Portable is a digital camera with gaming features...
- Gamer Within claimed Rare will release the original Perfect Dark (developed for the N64) via Xbox Live Arcade. Clearly a joke, but one that might prove true...
- Apple announced the iGame portable, according to 1up.com...
- Inspired by Monty Python, Dark Age of Camelot replaced horses with men who carry you on their shoulders while clapping coconuts...
- TRUE: Reports confirm that five girls from the small town of Ravenna, Ohio hung 17 cardboard replicas of Super Mario Brothers power-up cubes throughout town as an April Fool's prank. Residents, not sure what to make of them, called the bomb squad...
