Sony's Blu-Ray player may have been delayed, but the format has officially hit store shelves for those who can swallow the price of a $1000 Samsung player and an arguably weaker launch lineup (where's Serenity?!):

- Underworld Evolution

Early buzz among videophiles is that standard DVD upconversion is superb, but Underworld is the only Blu-Ray title that really shows off the power of the new HD format. At any rate, the war has begun. Will price be the early tipping point, or will it take the entry of the game machines this winter (PS3 Blu-Ray vs. Xbox 360 HD-DVD) before things get really bloody...
