There's a new Xbox 360 dashboard update this week, though no new features - just stuff that should have been there all along like stability and performance. You will need to download it before you can get to the two new free Gears of Wars multiplayer maps and tie-in theme on Xbox Live Marketplace. Incidentally, the "free" Gears content is sponsored by The Discovery Channel, which is giving away 2 million Microsoft points this Saturday and Sunday at readyaimfuture.com...UPDATE: There's now a free Call of Duty 3 map called Champs set in a French farm town.
