PC gamers are in for a treat this week with the free release of Command & Conquer Gold and several ad-supported Ubisoft titles. The Command & Conquer game is a 12-year anniversary present from EA to the game's fans - and it's completely free to download though must be burned to CD before play. Be sure to read the rather convoluted instructions. Ubisoft has jumped onto the free game bandwagon, teaming with Fileplanet to release some ad-supported titles. Right now, you can get the original Far Cry, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Rayman Raving Rabbids for free - if you can stomach a lot of load-screen ads for fast food. The download page offers a lot of other freebies, including some trials and demos. Also, Ghost Recon was supposedly on the list, but doesn't seem to be available now...
