It appears that the Nintendo lawyers weren't satisfied that stronger wrist straps were sufficient to protect consumers from flying Wii-motes. As of today, they are now offering free silicone sleeves to improve your grip and provide an extra layer of cushioning should the Wii-mote slip and strike someone or something. It's also worth noting that the Wii Remote Jacket will not prevent pregnancy and should not be used with silicone-based lubes. Get yours for free by visiting Nintendo.com or calling 1-866-431-8367. Have your Wii serial number handy to request up to 4 cushiony covers. New Wii-motes will begin shipping with the sleeves in coming weeks... UPDATE: It's been reported that Nintendo is spending $17 million on this little retrofit. Ouch!
