Today is the 5-year anniversary of Xbox Live, so Microsoft is celebrating by giving away free stuff for 2 days only (and too bad if your Xbox 360 is out for repairs!). The goodies include:
- Carcassonne (normally $10)
- Several free themes including Gears of War, Ghost Recon 2, Halo 2, MechAssault, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and one branded "Live is 5"
- More community gamerpics
- If you've been a paid Xbox Live subscriber for the full 5 years and your e-mail address of record is current, you should receive an offer for a free 500 Microsoft points (a $6.25 value)
- Arcade: Screwjumper! and Shrek-n-Roll ($10 each)
- Guitar Hero III boss battle songs (free) now available for play outside of career mode
- Virtua Fighter 5 Item Pack 1 ($3.75) with three new items per character
- College Hoops 2K8 2K Reelmaker replay editor ($5)
- Various Need for Speed ProStreet cheat codes for cash ($5-10 each, but please don't encourage EA by buying these)
