Wii Stuff - Spore Creatures DS demo, Groovin' Blocks, Final Soldier and Cho Aniki

This week's Wii updates include repeats of previous DS demos, a new WiiWare game, two Virtual Console games and some videos:

  • WiiWare: Musical rhythm puzzler Groovin' Blocks ($8)
  • Virtual Console: TurboGrafx16 2-fer: Vertical scroll shooter Final Soldier ($7) and shooter Cho Aniki ($9)
  • DS Demos: All repeats, including Spore Creatures and the unengaging Mystery Case Files: MillionHeir - which actually looks potentially good based on the marketing video posted last week, but the demo only features a tiny sliver of gameplay with no story or mini-games to engage you
  • Game Videos: Commando: Steel Disaster, Dragon Quest IV, Groovin' Blocks, Helix, My Secret World, Need for Speed: Undercover and Red Bull BC One
Full disclosure: I'm an ex-Big Fish Games staffer who might be characterized as mildly disgruntled, but in all fairness the demo plays much like the demo for their first game in the series, Mystery Case Files: Huntsville. It doesn't show off any of the new touch screen puzzle mechanics beyond hidden objects, and it fails to use the story to grab you. Fail...

Wow! A comment and a twitter to me, you are too kind. I adjusted my typekey profile, but was having trouble viewing it using Firefox, hopefully it comes up for you.
