This week's Free Stuff Friday is SimCity Societies for PC. If you missed this one, it veered from the series by moving you from the role of city planner to more of a social engineering facilitator. Your choices include:
- Authoritarian (secret police and propaganda ministries a la 1984)
- Capitalist (skyscrapers and condos)
- Contemplative (cathedrals, Buddhas and pagodas)
- Cyberpunk (flying cars and holographic stadiums)
- Fun City (carnivals, zoos and casinos),
- Haunted (Easter egg mode with graveyards, asylums and dungeons)
- Industrial (slums and factories)
- Romantic (opera houses, fountains and cobblestone streets)
- Small Town (diners, drive-ins and farms)
- Normal (a mix of all)

They probably should have just called this game Simciety to avoid all the hardcore Sim City fan backlash.

I haven't played Simcity since the one on SNES. Looks like fun!

Ah, I haven't played Sim City since 8th grade shop class (where we had 2000 on some computers for some educational reason).

lol one time I was walking by this house that threw a bunch of crap away and my eye happened to see some game cases as I walked by. Well sitting right there was a brand new Sim City 2000!! Why would they throw that away!? I picked that sucked up, walked back home (after I went to the store I was walking to) and played. The other games were completely trashed and broken, though... sad face...
Anyone have any idea how deep into the whole "society" thing they get? Is it really deep into it, or is it a glossed over function of the game?
