Misery Loves Company - Wipeout HD patch causes load problems

The Wipeout HD v1.3 update released today adds ranks, badges and friends invites, but what good are they if you can't get the game to load? Some gamers report that after patching, the game chokes when trying to load their autosave data. If this happens to you, sign out of the PlayStation Network, launch the game and then choose Online to sign back in and accept the release notes.
