The game was a genuine candidate for our Game of the Year. It took the winning formula from the original, removed most of the annoying parts and conveyed an interesting and compelling story. Its only real flaw was bad timing, getting released so close to so many other awesome games.
This is an extra copy we won at the Child's Play Charity Auction as part of an Ubisoft pack of games. We're keeping the one we bought at launch.

I am glad to hear that Assassins Creed II improved upon the first. I really got tired of the stale mission structure in the first Assassins Creed. It is almost like they designed the engine/animations without thinking of a game. I really can't wait to see what they did with it.

Sometimes I wonder what exactly would be in an Assassin's Creed. "To Kill, kill silently and not get caught" If I was an assassin that'd probably be all I need in my creed. Oh hey what about a specialized rock band that plays music just for Assassin's to listen to while they go stalking about, that'd be awesome and another appropriate use for Assassin's Creed.
