Nintendo has released the first set of free games for Nintendo 3DS early adopters. If you logged into the eShop with your 3DS before the August 12 deadline, you should have 10 new games in your download history. Here's how to get them:
First, launch the 3DS eShop. Navigate to the left and open Settings/Other. Tap Your Downloads. Scroll until you see the 10 games added to your account history (plus the Ambassador Certificate video which just lets you press a button to receive SpotPass notifications when new games are released).
Find the game you want and tap the Redownload button. Each title must be downloaded individually (fortunately, they're quite small - about 30-35 blocks each), so you may want to create a checklist. These are in the order they appeared in my account:
- Super Mario Bros.
- Metroid
- The Legend of Zelda
- Wrecking Crew
- NES Open Tournament Golf
- Donkey Kong Jr.
- Balloon Fight
- Ice Climber
- Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
- Yoshi
- Ambassador Certificate
When playing the games, remember to use the Y button to navigate menus and the Start button to launch your game...
Great mini-faq. Not a super intuitive process.
