Wii Stuff - Pesky channel update, Strong Bad 4 and Space Invaders, plus Bolt and Lasagna demos

This week if you want to get to the Nintendo (Marketing) Channel to stream some videos or download DS demos, you'll need to accept a 122 block channel update first. No, the DS demos won't be any easier to access - they're still hidden and available only as a reward for opting in to share your gameplay habits. No, you won't be free of the annoying automatic paging of the video list, nor is there an option to turn it off. All I could find was a new opt-in prompting me to allow commercial messages from Nintendo. Hey, isn't that ALL that this channel is - commercial messages?! Guess the lawyers mandated this pesky update - though it would have been nice to get some improvements thrown in too.

Here's what's new on the Wii:

  • WiiWare: Strong Bad Episode 4: Dangeresque 3 ($10) and Target Toss Pro: Bags ($7)
  • Virtual Console: Space Invaders: The Original Game for SNES ($8) and Forgotten Worlds for Sega Genesis ($8)
  • DS Demos: Bolt, Personal Trainer: Cooking Lasagna, Prince of Persia: The Fallen King and several repeats including Kung Fu Panda: Legendary Warriors and TouchMaster 2
  • Game Videos: Animal Crossing: City Folk, Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force, Helix, Personal Trainer: Cooking, Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, Rock Band AC/DC Live Track Pack, Skate It, Strong Bad Episode 4, Target Toss Pro: Bags and Wii Music
