Wii Update - New Menu update blocks homebrew, speeds SD card access

Turns our yesterday's Wii channel update did have a new feature: Peer recommendations. You can find out what games others with similar tastes enjoyed, and see how people vote on whether titles are casual, hardcore, and best played alone or online with friends.

This channel path was followed by another Wii Menu update (v3.4) that, surprisingly, is optional. If you decline it, you'll preserve any hacked save files, which will be deleted when you accept. Basically, it's an attack on homebrew and custom channels. If you skip it, you will miss out on enhanced parental controls, USB keyboard support for the Mii Channel, and improved system functions including zippier SD card transfer speeds - rumored to be the first step toward the promised Wii storage solution next year...
