As some long time readers may recall... A few years back, I was hired at Big Fish Games and ran their online community. It was an amazing job, and I was lucky to touch many parts of the business during my short but intense run there.
Part of this included working with game design and, while my contributions were mostly quite humble, I did help on some games. One of those games was Fairway Solitaire, created by John Cutter with design by Narisa Spaulding. It's truly the most fun game I had a very small hand in, and now it's out for iPhone and iPad (free to play the first six courses; $1 to unlock full content).
In unrelated news, PopCap released Solitaire Blitz, which has the exact opposite dynamic - a fast-paced card challenge on Facebook - but it is also quite fun.
