When I saw Barbie Project Friendship get added to Xbox Game Pass, I joked to GrrlGotGame that was her chance to try a Barbie game for free. To my surprise, she tried it and liked it - though not for the gameplay.
For better or for worse, this is clearly targeting to very young girls and the story and gameplay reflect this. You pick up trash, change clothes, decorate a building, and repair a skateboard deck - and there's the promise of a secret beach where Ken reportedly appears:
