You know I love a good Artifex Mundi game (or even a bad one) so here are four I played over the last eight months:
Chronicles of Magic: Divided Kingdoms is set in a kingdom where magic is commonplace. So common that someone uses it to kidnap your son, so you must pursue them using your own magic to remove obstacles. It's a middle of the road entry in their puzzle game franchise, but still pretty fun:
Faces of Illusion: The Twin Phantoms is one of the more fun Artifex Mundi hidden object games I've played in awhile. It has the ludicrous plot. You spend most of the prologue trying to engineer an interview with the star performer and then a ridiculous amount of time assembling a fire extinguisher to put out a fire in the theater. Classic AM!
Agent Walker: Secret Journey is wonderfully awful. Set during WWII with elements stolen brazenly from Raiders of the Lost Ark, it's a fun romp that I've since played all the way through:
I put off buying Ghost Files: The Face of Guilt, and my instinct seems to have been correct. It includes a cumbersome new element, the forensic kit, which lets you compare fingerprints, blood samples, and more. The hidden object puzzles are also harder and less fun than your typical game in this genre. Oh I'll finish it, eventually, but so far I'm not loving it:
