We've been collecting Funko Pop! figures for more than a decade - they're all over our house. And of course they stay in the boxes, as they are treated as collectibles and objets d'art. So when I learned Funko Fusion was a game where you could play with their characters from Invincible, Scott Pilgrim, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Back to the Future, The Umbrella Academy, M3GAN, Five Nights at Freddy's, Knight Rider, and many more franchises I love, I wanted... to wait for a sale.
And one just materialized, so here we are. For some reason, I went for the bundle that includes the painter Bob Ross. Many of the worlds seem to be locked at the start, though I imagine collecting the figures is about a third of the fun. I chose to start with Hot Fuzz, which is not my favorite of Edgar Wright's Cornettos but it seemed as good as any (albeit a little more violent than I expected for a game that's been compared to the Lego videogame franchise).
In this video, I'm still figuring out the mechanics but there's clearly a lot to do, explore, collect, unlock. Since then I've played through all of the worlds and some of the bonus levels, and I still have plenty to do before beating the game:
