I don't talk about it much, but I have a thing for solitaire dating back to real cards as a kid and digitally with the free accessory in Windows 3.1. I decided to give World of Solitaire on Xbox a try because it promised... a world... of solitaire.
But yeah, not so much. There are five games (Klondike, FreeCell, Tripeaks, Spider, and Pyramid) and the game progression doesn't unlock a story or expedition but card backs, music tracks, table patterns, and the like. You'll see me fail at Klondike, succeed at FreeCell, Spider, and Tripeaks, and skip Pyramid (which I do enjoy on occasion) as I go a little long to complete the first set of quests.
The interface is clunky (as evidenced by my many misteps) but I have kept playing because... solitaire. And also the quest system is easy at first but challenging at the end - after a few months, I'm down to the final few! A Klondike win in 3 minutes? Not with this interface. Maybe with a mouse or touch screen. Still, I keep trying!
Take a look and see if this scratches your arcade solitaire itch:
