I recently learned that Artifex Mundi has abandoned console hidden object games (the only decent ones out there, even if the stories are hilariously bad). So I decided to buy and stream the last of them.
This makes 45 Artifex Mundi hidden object 1st 30 minutes videos (not counting Irony Curtain or My Brother Rabbit, which aren't strictly hidden object games).
Tibetan Quest: Beyond the World's End features quintessential gameplay and story elements - more or less the gold standard for these types of games. Travel to Tibet to search for a lost family member. Solve puzzles to locate and then repair a small plane. Crash land the plane and pick up some pieces to keep moving forward:
Demon Hunter: Chronicles from Beyond is a solid entry with classic hidden object tableaus, the gratuitous cat to find and feed, and a lighthouse you have to unlock and relight. Brace yourself for the usual ridiculous supernatural horror plot and inane stock characters and you'll be fine:
Demon Hunter: New Chapter is one of the best hidden object games I've played in years. It has a semi-coherent story and fun puzzles where you have to assemble Rube Goldberg-style contraptions (think Mouse Trap, the board game). I did struggle with the helicopter startup sequence at the beginning but made great progress after that:
Crime Secrets: Crimson Lily is no more ludicrous than most of these games. I mean, who doesn't stop for a speeding cop car in a blizzard?! Better to crash. But it's pretty entertaining - until you get to the key matching puzzle. I do eventually beat it, but it does take a lot longer than the typical mini-game puzzle in this genre:
Family Mysteries 2: Echoes of Tomorrow is particularly inane, and to be fair I played it while both drunk and exhausted so I don't remember much - except that you're a tech-obsessed scientist determined to ruin his anniversary by devoting all of his efforts to a pearl necklace teleportation delivery system that backfires when some future dude materializes. Or something like that:
