When Blue Prince was added to Xbox Game Pass back in April, I immediately downloaded it. Something about the description of a roguelike manor where every day the rooms are different intrigued me - though it took me a few months to actually start playing. Now that I have, I find myself thoroughly addicted!
The opening is a surprisingly compelling narrative comprised entirely of the reading of a will. You then enter the house and begin drafting rooms, trying to find keys, coins, and gems while not boxing yourself in or running out of steps. I win the parlour game (twice), repeatedly pay a tithe at the chapel due to poor placement, run out of moves and need to end the day early (also twice), and become intrigued by the premise.
I do wonder whether I might ever find the mysterious 46th room, or maybe I'll die trying:
